Corporate Debt trading in July was € 51.25 bn, a 39%
increase compared to the same period last year
EQUITIES
In July trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE
reached € 55.74 bn. Average daily trading volumes were
€ 2.53 bn, which represents a 4.49% increase over the same
month in 2003 .
Volume traded from January hit € 395.44 bn, an increase
of over 36% compared to the same period in 2003.
In July the value of trading on Latibex exceeded € 30
million, a 8% increase over the same month in 2003 . The value
of trading on Latibex since January has increased over 23%
on the same period last year, reaching € 214 million.
The return on the IBEX 25 index in the first seven months
of 2004 was 2.35% and that on the Ibex with dividends was
4.74%.
WARRANTS AND CERTIFICATES
Trading volumes on the warrants and certificates market in
July 2004 came in at € 142 million, which represents
a 28% increase over the previous month and a 5% compared to
the same period last year.
The trading volume from January on this market has increased
over 6% compared to the same period in 2003.
DERIVATIVES
Futures and options traded through MEFF in July 2004 came
in at 1.08 million contracts. It is worth mentioning the heavy
trading activity for futures on the IBEX 35® index, with
365,347 contracts and on Mini IBEX, with 105,062 contracts.
During the seven first months of 2004 futures on the Ibex
35 index were up 28% with 2.60 million contracts and Futures
Mini up 10%, with 766,662 contracts.
CORPORATE DEBT
Corporate Debt trading on AIAF in July was € 51.25 bn,
a 39% increase compared to the same period last year. Accumulated
trading volumes in 2004 came in at € 298.04 bn, 39 %
up on last year.
The value of new issues on AIAF in July was €35.42 bn,
61,3% up on the same month in 2003. Accumulated volume value
of new issues in 2004 came in at € 188.13 bn, 52,2 %
up on last year.
